E2EE Reset & Data Privacy Guide
Dapals uses strict End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) to ensure that your messages are completely secure. Only you and the person you are chatting with can read them; not even our servers have access to your message content.
What happens when you use "Reset Secure Session"?
If you forget your 6-digit backup PIN or wish to start fresh on a new device, you can use the E2EE reset option. Here is what happens under the hood:
- Your old local private key and encrypted local database messages are securely cleared from your device.
- The server-side backup associated with your old keys is permanently deleted.
- A brand new cryptographic key pair is generated instantly, securing your future chats.
